Canadian Blood Services commends the Chain of Life team and the hundreds of teachers in Quebec who are champions for organ donation education through Chain of Life.
A sincere and heartfelt thank you to Chain of Life teachers in Quebec for leading the way and setting a stellar example for all of Canada.
Canadian Blood Services commends the Chain of Life team and the hundreds of teachers in Quebec who are champions for organ donation education through Chain of Life. Our team here at Canadian Blood Services has been working with organ donation organizations across the country to improve access to educational resources for young people.
Together, we are on a mission to get families talking about altruism, healthy living and ultimately saving lives. We know that knowledge is key to addressing young people’s concerns about organ and tissue donation. It can help them feel empowered to talk about it with their families and equip them to make informed choices. It's vitally important…
We are pleased to have the Chain of Life curriculum as a featured resource in the new Organs & Tissues for Life Education Portal. This portal was developed in collaboration with educators and health professionals and the broader community of organ and tissue donation and transplant across the country. The portal collects and shares age-appropriate, easy-to-access and easy-to-use teaching resources with educators, parents and students, to help spark interest in, and conversation about, this vital subject.
It is so encouraging to know that the Chain of Life program is currently being taught in approximately 100 schools in Quebec and that already, nearly 100,000 young people have been touched by its message.
By sharing the Chain of Life story, we shine a light on the success this powerful program. We hope to inspire and encourage educators, schools and ministries of education across the country to consider adapting Chain of Life for their students.
We want to extend our congratulations and a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Chain of Life teachers for leading the way and setting a stellar example for all of Canada.
We too, believe that the best way to get the vital message across is through teaching, learning and conversation. The tag line is Teach it. Learn it. Talk about it.
The Organs & Tissues for Life Education Portal includes many resources available in English and French, including the Orgamites, a global program for kids ages 5-11.
