Take on the Chain of Life Challenge at Centre de plein air de Lévis (mont Lauzon)!

Hi, 
Let me tell you why Chain of Life means so much to me. I love that name for this organization. A chain is made up of billions of unique, connected parts that work together to do something greater, and everyone contributes. In a chain, we rely on the people around us for support, and we support others in return.

That struck me the most. My time with this program showed me how much community matters. It is an honor to wake up every day and do my part to keep this chain going. That is why I tutor. That is why I help plan events that bring people together at my school. That is why I listen with all my heart when a friend needs me. I know my community will be there for me when I need it. That is why I took this role as flag bearer.

Life often brings challenges that we cannot control. But sometimes, we have a say in what happens next. I learned about organ donation through the program. I learned that one personal choice can bring hope to many lives.

So, the choice is clear: why not help someone when we have nothing to lose? Every small action we take shapes our chain in some way.

To me, the Chain of life organization is much more than a mission; it is a choice of mutual aid and solidarity at the very heart of our community. Everyone contributes in their own way, whether through financial donations, time, love, and kindness, or through that ultimate gesture that saves so many lives: organ and tissue donation. Every contribution, whether as modest as an act of kindness or as immense as the gift of oneself, has an impact not only on one life, but on the lives of many.

A donation saves one person, but it also heals their parents, their friends, and potentially their children. This is what encompasses this chain of love, happiness, and mutual support. It is comforting to know that there is a united community standing behind us to support us through every action, every decision, and every trial encountered along our journey. It is this collective strength that made me want to share my experience and that motivates my commitment to being a flag-bearer for Chain of life.

My grandmother had a diseased liver, a vital organ that cleanses the blood and stores energy. Unfortunately, she could no longer survive without a transplant. At that time, I was not yet born, but thanks to the miraculous support of our community, she received the transplant that saved her life. Although she has passed away now, this gift granted her 30 additional years of life—thirty more years to create and share precious memories with her loved ones. It is because of this gift that I had the chance to get to know my grandmother, the one who talked to me in the evenings when things weren't going well, and the one who knew how to make me laugh out loud. It is for this reason that I want to thank, from the bottom of my heart, everyone who participates in and contributes to this noble cause.
