Hello! My name is Katie and I was diagnosed with Lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM) in 2019. This is an orphan disease that destroys the lungs and in the acute phase, requires a lung transplant. In 2020, I was fortunate to receive the greatest gift of all; an organ donation. My team and I will be forever grateful to my donor family and my donor. Despite the loss of their loved one, they decided to follow his or her wishes, and in doing this, I have been given a second chance at life. I cannot thank them enough! I hope that they are enjoying life like they have made it possible for me to do so today! THANK YOU!
